Andy hadn't needed to tell Terry what had happened because he'd been on duty when the bomb had gone off. He'd been supposed to be her date for the Commissioner's Gala but that had been cancelled so they'd agreed to meet for dinner after shift. That plan looked like it was about to be scrapped too considering she was now being checked out in the back of an ambulance after Sam had pulled her out of the rubble of the evidence room. Andy didn't know how Terry would take this but she'd asked someone to find him for her.

"Yeah, it was good for me." She nodded a little and turned in the direction of his touch, taking that invitation to snuggle up with him again. The bedsheets now only covering maybe a third of their bodies but she didn't care. "I'll just be happy when I don't feel like I got beaten up yesterday."

She knew it might be a few days before she could please him like he was used to, but she also knew he would understand that. She rested her head against his chest and eyed the ceiling. "So where do you want to go?"

"Any tropical paradise that's not overrun by tourism." Maybe he had given it some thought. His answer to her question came without any hesitation. Terry collected his arm carefully around her body, happy to be in that moment. He probably should have added 'one they could afford' to the description but knew Andy well enough to know she already understood that aspect.

He could have elaborated for her but instead asked Andy for her input. "How about you? Where do you wanna go?" Hopefully she still didn't think he was only interested in seeing her in a bikini.

"Just someplace quiet," Andy told him honestly. "After everything? I don't see myself running around doing a bunch of tourist stuff. I think my idea of a good time is going to be sleeping in, or reading a book, or going to a new restaurant. Lots of peace and quiet.'

Terry nodded his understanding. His fingertips softly ran over her skin where they reached on her body. "I was actually thinking of somewhere so off the beaten path, might not have any restaurants. There's gotta be an island in the Caribbean that has ocean front cottages or something like that."

"You're going to rely on me to cook? You know I'm not that great at it, right?" Andy laughed, reminded of the take-out still sitting in Terry's fridge from the night before. "But that might be cute. I could just build a sand castle and work on my tan."

He chuckled at her answer. "The spot I'm thinking of has room service, Babe. Or I guess they call it cottage service." Terry hadn't done any actual homework but in the past with his wife, he remembered they had talked about a tropical island getaway like he described. It would be nice to finally take it.

"Well that's a relief." Andy laughed and leaned over to kiss his shoulder. "Because you've seen my fridge. I don't cook, Babe. Although I guess being away from people is good too, since you know, we get kind of loud."

"We?" he teased. Terry chuckled before continuing. "I only make noise because you like it." He was mostly joking. While Andy did influence him to being more vocal during sex, he thoroughly enjoyed how loud she could be.

"Oh, that's so not true." Andy laughed and shook her head. "Some of the things you say to me during sex are so not for polite company, Terry. Not to mention that one time we slammed my bed into the wall? I'm surprised my neighbors have never complained."

"I stick by what I said--I'm only loud and... active because you like it," he laughed heartily. Terry was genuinely laughing. He knew Andy was right. Some of the things he had said during sex even surprised him. She brought the wild man out of him. "We could always stay here. We'd only scare off the people walking on the sidewalk out front."

"Right. Of course you are." Andy laughed as she shifted so she was half on top of him, resting her head against those abs she'd become quite fond of. "We could...but would you be cool with that? You sounded like you were looking forward to a change of scenery."

His teasing audibly simmered into a warm tone. "I know I can be a dick but I'm not a complete asshole," he said with a soft chuckle. "I'm not gonna enjoy the change of scenery if you're hurting. Traveling isn't going to leave you time to recoup. We can have a staycation. I'm allowed to spoil my girlfriend a little, aren't I?"

"If you want to, sure." Andy nodded a little, her eyes said she appreciated the sentiment. "I'm not sure how much more recovering I can do than getting some rest and waiting for the scrapes to heal though. Okay, maybe a good massage would be nice. But it's not like I broke an arm or anything. Thankfully."

"So...which is it? Get away or stay here to recover? Your call," he said simply with a hand still petting her back. Terry didn't mind either way. If they stayed now, he had a trip back to San Francisco over the holidays coming up. It wouldn't be the tropics but he'd definitely get out of Canada's cold for a few. Right now it seemed he and Andy needed a mental break more than anything.

She glanced up at him. "What do you want to do? It sounds like you were looking forward to leaving, and I can laze around anywhere you want to. I mean I don't travel a lot anywhere either."

"Yeah, but are you gonna be comfortable traveling from car to airport, through said airport, plane, second airport until final destination? I'm gonna feel like shit if you're in pain for all that." Terry shifted to meet her gaze fully.

"Why don't we compromise?" Andy suggested. "Maybe we can find someplace we can drive to. Call it a road trip."

The only problem that Terry saw with her suggestion was there not being any warm spots anywhere near Canada. An idea quickly came to mind. He had told her there were plenty of hotels with hot tubs and huge beds. "Let me see what I can find," he said and finally slipped out of bed. His first stop was pulling a pair of boxers from a drawer then heading to the bathroom for a pit stop (empty his bladder, wash his hands, brush his teeth and wash his face).

Andy rolled over in the bed, watching him leave. She decided to laze there for a couple of minutes, stretching out her legs and letting her back pop back into place. Then finally she slipped out and fetched her bag, pulling on panties and an undershirt. Who said she needed pants at the moment.

She was immediately subjected to a wide grin at her entrance into the living area. His desk with a laptop was on the far wall. Between them was his couch. Terry instantly spoke up. "No cheating. Sit yourself there on the couch. Unless you wanna make breakfast?" he questioned toward the end as his attention quickly returned to his laptop screen. Their getaway was now apparently a surprise for Andy.

"If you want me to." It wasn't the first time Andy had cooked for Terry after all. Although maybe she did tease for a little sitting on the couch and letting her long legs stretch out. She knew she looked good just in that top and panties.

"Yeah, go ahead. I can eat," he answered over his shoulder. Andy was beautiful, and Terry often got lost in thought staring at her through the day, but his attention was fully on where they were getting away to. He was sitting in just a pair of boxers at the desk. "Use whatever's in there." Not that he remotely remembered what he had stocked in his kitchen.

"You got it, handsome." She might be teasing him just a little as she padded to the kitchen to see what was in the fridge. It was workable at least. Andy set to making some omelettes while watching her boyfriend, telling herself she was not allowed to distract him any more than she might already have.
