Officer Andy McNally is a patrol cop in Toronto's 15 Division. She's the daughter of homicide detective Tommy McNally, so she's carrying her father's baggage. She's also the former trainee and ex-girlfriend of Sam Swarek, and she's still carrying a torch for him, even though they've said they're just going to stay friends.

Andy is the ex-girlfriend of her fellow officer Nick Collins, himself the former fiance of her friend Gail Peck. Her relationship with Nick has been strained since their breakup. Andy recently became the training officer to a new rookie, Duncan Moore, but that partnership ended abruptly when Duncan panicked and left Andy to get into a gunfight with a murder suspect alone. Duncan is currently facing a suspension and possible dismissal, and Andy is reconsidering whether or not she's ready to train other officers.
